My theory that Mystery Babylon is Perg'amum, Turkey.
1). Wilderness does not mean "desert" in Hebrew as Joel Richardson states in his book "Mystery Babylon: Unlocking the Bible's Greatest Prophetic Mystery". This is Joel's main premise for Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
I will state here, at one time I also agreed with this concept that Mystery Babylon was Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
But, after further review and years of studying this topic, I find this theory to be lacking in biblical evidence. That I can present another theory or concept that equally compelling or at least has merit or value to add to the conversation of who or what Mystery Babylon really is.

2). There are many teachings in the Biblical community on Mystery Babylon and who or what she is.
Is Mystery Babylon a city?
Is Mystery Babylon a country?
Is Mystery Babylon a region or area of land?
Is Mystery Babylon the beast system?
Just what or who is Mystery Babylon?
Many of the main street theories are that Mystery Babylon is Mecca - Saudi Arabia, Rome, NY - USA, Iraq – Old Babylon, or even Jerusalem. Most are not a part of the 10-horn Muslim region as stated in Ezekiel 38-39, that the whore sits on. Pergamos, Turkey is.
Only Iraq – Old Babylon, would be part of the geography of the 7 Kingdoms in the Book of Daniel 7-12 or even Ezekiel 38-39 or Daniel 2, 7 & 8.
Old Babylon Iraq is not Mystery Babylon during end days or latter days.
This would be like referring to Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 as Antichrist.
They are not the same and they are easy to determine why they are not.
Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 is buried in a dirt grave in Hamon-Gog (Ezekiel 39:15-16) with his armies for 7-months. They burn the weapons for 7-years, eluding to a 7-year tribulation period coming. That a city will rise from this carnage and destruction called Hamonah. And that this alone will disprove that Gog and Antichrist are not the same creatures. Antichrist only perishes in the Lake of Fire in Rev. 19:20 & Rev. 20:10. Also, these armies that attack the camps of the Saints, that are from Great Tribulation, are consumed by God's hand by fire Rev. 20:9. Not buried in a dirt grave in northern Israel called Hamon-Gog for 7 months. This is why these people of these armies, do not see the 2nd death and are not judged in the Book of Life or are either placed in the Lake of Fire with Antichrist, The False Prophet, or Satan (Rev. 20:10). That Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 can not be the same as Gog in Rev. 20:8.
Nowhere in the Bible does it ever say Antichrist is buried in a dirt grave or in the ground in a dirt grave for flesh or of flesh.

These two events; Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 and Gog of Rev. 20:7-10 are not the same and they are named differently for a reason. Just as Old Babylon and Mystery Babylon are not the same places in the middle east.
B). The weapons and fuels from this (Sorrows & Birth Pains) Seals war and the destruction of these 10-horn Muslim nations in Ezekiel 38-39 are burnt for 7 years, eluding to the 7-year Tribulation & Great Tribulation period.

1st of all we must know the phase or time that we are actually in the end or latter days.
Sorrows or Birth Pains - This period is from the time our Lord Jesus breaks the 1st Seal in the Book of Revelation in Rev. 6:1, to the Signing of the Covenant of Death (7-Year Peace Treaty with the nations/peoples & Antichrist). Once the signing occurs, Tribulation starts and lasts 1260 days to Desolation of Abomination (Rev. 11:1).
Tribulation - This period is from the Signing of the Covenant of Death (7-Year Peace Treaty with Nations/Antichrist) to the Abomination of Desolation event on God’s Seat, the Temple Mount (Rev. 11:1). This period is 1260 Days, 3 1/2 years, or 42 months in length. Once Antichrist proclaims to be God of God’s this will then start Great Tribulation (Rev. 11:7).
Great Tribulation - This period is from the time Antichrist proclaims to be God of God’s on the Temple Mount and commits Abomination of Desolation (Rev. 11:7) on God’s Seat in Jerusalem to the finishing of the 7th bowl judgment (Rev. 16:17).

3). The Whore of the World, “Satan’s Bride or Mystery Babylon” will be destroyed on the 5th bowl event in Revelation 16:10.
4). Isaiah 21 is about the wrath of God destroying the Seat of Satan on the 5th Bowl during the bowl phase or God’s wrath. Rapture of both the dead and living occurs on the 7th Trumpet, so the Elect/Saints/Martyrs will not be here for this.
5). John writes to the church of Pergamos. Jesus says the Seat of Satan is here at Pergamos (Revelation 2:12).
God tells us that he has a special judgment for Pergamos, Turkey - the 5th Bowl.
Revelation 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Why would God have a specific judgment for this place if it does not matter?
God will allow Satan to exalt his bride (Pergamos, Turkey) to the whole world and all commerce will go through here as the world gathers to exalt Antichrist.

I believe that this is an extremely important statement is made to the church of Per'gamum. The angel of Jesus tells us that this place is the "Seat of Satan or Satan's Bride and/or Satan's Place of Power".

If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone which no one knows except him who receives it.’
*"An'tipas my witness" -
Meaning (like the father ), martyr at Pergamos, ( Rev. 2:13 ), and according to tradition the bishop of that place. (A.D. before 100.) This statement then redirects us to Rev. 17:6 and 18:24 that this city contains the blood of the saints and prophets in it.
According to Christian tradition, in the year 92 Saint Antipas, the first bishop of Pergamum ordained by John the Apostle, was a victim of an early clash between Serapis worshippers and Christians. An angry mob is said to have burned Saint Antipas alive in front of the Temple inside a brazen bull-like incense burner, which represented the bull god Apis. His martyrdom is one of the first recorded in Christian history, highlighted by the Christian Scripture itself through the message sent to the Pergamon Church in the Book of Revelation.
The brazen bull, bronze bull, or Sicilian bull, was allegedly a torture and execution device designed in ancient Greece. According to Diodorus Siculus, recounting the story in Bibliotheca historica, Perillos of Athens invented and proposed it to Phalaris, the tyrant of Akragas, Sicily, as a new means of executing criminals. The bull was said to be made entirely out of bronze, hollow, with a door in one side. According to legends the brazen bull was designed in the form and size of an actual bull and had an acoustic apparatus that converted screams into the sound of a bull. The condemned were locked inside the device, and a fire was set under it, heating the metal until the person inside was roasted to death. Some modern scholars question if the brazen bull ever really existed, attributing reports of the invention to early propaganda.
The Romans were reputed to have used this torture device to kill some Christians, notably Saint Eustace, who, according to Christian tradition, was roasted in a brazen bull with his wife and children by Emperor Hadrian. The same happened to Saint Antipas, Bishop of Pergamon during the persecutions of Emperor Domitian and the first martyr in Asia Minor, who was roasted to death in a brazen bull in 92 CE. The device is claimed to have still been in use two centuries later, when another Christian, Pelagia of Tarsus, is said to have been burned in one in 287 CE by the Emperor Diocletian.
The Catholic Church discounts the story of Saint Eustace's martyrdom as "completely false".

Per'gamum was a main hub of commerce
Pergamon or Pergamum (/ˈpɜːrɡəmən/ or /ˈpɜːrɡəmɒn/; Ancient Greek: Πέργαμον), also referred to by its modern Greek form Pergamos (Greek: Πέργαμος), was a rich and powerful ancient Greek city in Mysia. It is located 26 kilometres (16 mi) from the modern coastline of the Aegean Sea on a promontory on the north side of the river Caicus (modern-day Bakırçay) and northwest of the modern city of Bergama, Turkey.
During the Hellenistic period, it became the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon under the Attalid dynasty in 281–133 BC, who transformed it into one of the major cultural centres of the Greek world. Many remains of its impressive monuments can still be seen and especially the outstanding masterpiece of the Pergamon Altar. Pergamon was the northernmost of the seven churches of Asia cited in the New Testament Book of Revelation.
When Attalus III died without an heir in 133 BC, he bequeathed the whole of Pergamon to Rome. This was challenged by Aristonicus who claimed to be Attalus III's brother and led an armed uprising against the Romans with the help of Blossius, a famous Stoic philosopher. For a period he enjoyed success, defeating and killing the Roman consul P. Licinius Crassus and his army, but he was defeated in 129 BC by the consul M. Perperna. The kingdom of Pergamon was divided between Rome, Pontus, and Cappadocia, with the bulk of its territory becoming the new Roman province of Asia. The city itself was declared free and was briefly the capital of the province, before it was transferred to Ephesus.
The city is centered around a 335-metre-high (1,099 ft) mesa of andesite which formed its acropolis. This mesa falls away sharply on the north, west, and east sides, but three natural terraces on the south side provide a route up to the top. To the west of the acropolis, the Selinus River (modern Bergamaçay) flows through the city, while the Ketios river (modern Kestelçay) passes by to the east.
In 362 BC, Orontes, satrap of Mysia, based his revolt against the Persian Empire at Pergamon, but was crushed. Only with Alexander the Great was Pergamon and the surrounding area removed from Persian control. There are few traces of the pre-Hellenistic city, since in the following period the terrain was profoundly changed and the construction of broad terraces involved the removal of almost all earlier structures. Parts of the temple of Athena, as well as the walls and foundations of the altar in the sanctuary of Demeter go back to the fourth century.
The Library of Pergamon was the second largest in the ancient Greek world after the Library of Alexandria, containing at least 200,000 scrolls. The location of the library building is not certain. Since the 19th century excavations, it has generally been identified with an annex of the northern stoa of the sanctuary of Athena in the Upper Citadel, which was built by Eumenes II. Inscriptions in the gymnasium which mention a library might indicate, however, that the building was located in that area.

6). Satan and all nations (heathen left after the rapture) will lash out at the Whore as they are being judged by God during the bowl phase and the destruction of Mystery Babylon on the 5th bowl during God’s wrath (Rev. 16:10-11).
7). Pergamos is only 26 km from the Aegean Sea. Michael throws a boulder into the sea and destroys it. There are many island communities around the Aegean Sea that will be affected and see this happen. Mecca, Saudi Arabia is around 80 km to the Red Sea and Jeddah which is the closest port on the Red Sea.
8). Pergamos will be the new hub of the world. Satan will whore out his bride, Pergamos - The Seat of Satan, to the nations. In contrast, Jesus’s bride is Jerusalem.
9). It tells us in Revelation 18:23 that the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard of no more. 5th and 6th Bowl event or the destruction.
10). Pergamos was freed by Alexander the Great from the Persians (Iran) around 362 BC.
11). Pergamos was under Roman control after Attalus III died without an heir in 133 BC. Many of the Saints and Prophets died here as martyrs during Roman control and in the past.
12. The Judgement of Mystery Babylon is the 1st thing mentioned in Revelation 17 and is the 5th bowl event in Revelation 16:10.
13. Revelation 14:8 states that she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath (5th Bowl) of her fornication."
14. Pergamos Turkey, as well as the Temple Mount, will be rebuilt after Antichrist appears. This will happen between the 6th Trumpet when Antichrist appears, and Abomination which is at the 3 ½ year mark just prior to Great Tribulation.

Turkey (Erdoğan) leads the 10-horn nations of Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 that will attack Israel in Latter or End Days.
- Gog of Ezekiel 38-39 is Erdoğan of Turkey.
- Erdoğan-Gog is the White Horseman or 1st Seal of Revelation.
- Erdoğan-Gog will become the new Ottoman Emperor & be given the crown of the White Horseman after the destruction of Iran-Kurds in Daniel 8.
- Erdoğan-Gog & his armies (10-horns) will die and be buried in Hamon-Gog for 7 months (Ezekiel 38:11-16).
- This is the fatal wound and will be healed when Erdoğan-Gog dies on the 6th Seal and is resurrected into Antichrist on the 6th Trumpet.

- From this death and chaos, of the 10-horn Muslim nations, 4 regions will form (based on Daniel 8:22 & Zech. 1:18-21).

(Gog will give 10 nations 15 days to attack Israel prior to God killing them on the 6th Seal as stated in Ezekiel 38-39).
